# Bar chart

Useful for quickly comparing measures across the dimensions you set. Bars are drawn in the order you set the dimensions. Works well for comparing values over a cumulative period.

## How to use <a href="#guide" id="guide"></a>

Once you've set the data source, dimensions and data filters on the Data tab, click **Bar** in the type grid on the **Chart** tab of the settings panel on the right.

Bar charts visualize data cumulatively only. We recommend setting the date range and comparison period before you review the chart.

1. Click the **Chart** tab in the settings panel on the right, then click **Bar** in the type grid.

2. Select a measure.

* Bar charts support comparison analysis only. You can select multiple dimensions but only one measure.
* Choose **Stacked bar chart** under **Display** to stack the values for each dimension in a single bar. Stacked bar charts are available when you have at least one dimension.
* Handy when...👍\
  You want to calculate cumulative statistics across several dimensions and see rankings in the order of the dimensions you set.\
  e.g. Comparing revenue by brand / sales channel, revenue by brand / sales channel / product, or CTR by ad channel / campaign / creative.

3. Choose a comparison period under **Compare** in the date bar above the chart to see at a glance how the chart is changing against the comparison period.
