# Bump chart

Useful for analyzing how rankings change over time. Rankings are based on the selected measure, so you can quickly see the top and bottom of the ranking.

## How to use
Once you've set the data source, dimensions and data filters on the Data tab, click **Bump** in the type grid on the **Chart** tab of the settings panel on the right.
1. Click the **Chart** tab in the settings panel on the right, then click **Bump** in the type grid.
2. Select a measure, then set the **Rank direction** and **Rank range**.

* **Rank direction**: Choose whether the item with the largest value or the smallest value ranks first.
* **Rank range**: Choose from ranks 1 \~ 20, 21 \~ 40, 41 \~ 60, 61 \~ 80 or 81 \~ 100.
* Rankings are recalculated for each period and connected with lines. Equal values get the same rank, and the comparison period isn't used.
* Handy when...馃憤\
You want to follow ranking changes between the dimensions you set over time, based on a single measure.\
e.g. Tracking changes in revenue rank by product or by product-option, or changes in ad creative impressions.

3. Choose an interval (**Hourly, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly**) under **Frequency** in the date bar above the chart to view the selected date range at that interval.
## Table 路 Movers 路 Bump views
Under **View** on the **Chart** tab, you can choose a figure that makes ranking changes easier to read. The figure you choose is placed on the dashboard card as is.
| View | What it shows |
| -------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Bump lines** | Connects each period's rankings with lines (default). |
| **Table** | Shows rank 路 change 路 value change 路 share 路 rank trend in one row. |
| **Movers** | Lists items in order of how much their value changed. |
| **Bump** | Follows the top items' ranks to the end and highlights the item that rose the most. |
1. Under **View**, select **Table**, **Movers** or **Bump**.
2. Choose how many items to show under **Top N**, and select **Previous period** or **First period** under **Compare with**.
3. Under **Show**, turn on what you want to see alongside. You can choose **Summary (rank up 路 down 路 value up 路 down)**, **Value change column**, **Share column** and **Rank trend column**.

* These views rank by the first measure and don't use the comparison period.
* The last completed period is compared with the period you chose under Compare with. The period that includes today isn't finished yet, so it's left out of the comparison and shown with a dotted line on the chart.
