# Column chart

Useful for quickly comparing measures across the dimensions you set. Columns are drawn in the order you set the dimensions. Works well for comparing values over a cumulative period.

## How to use <a href="#guide" id="guide"></a>

Once you've set the data source, dimensions and data filters on the Data tab, click **Column** in the type grid on the **Chart** tab of the settings panel on the right.

1. Click the **Chart** tab in the settings panel on the right, then click **Column** in the type grid.

2. Select a measure.

* Column charts support **Comparison** and **Single** analysis.
* Comparison: Handy for comparing several dimensions.
* Single: Handy for comparing several measures for one dimension.

3. Use **Display** to change how the chart is visualized.

**Column chart**: The selected values are laid out side by side along the time series.\
**Stacked column chart**: The selected values are split by share within a single bar. If there's only one group of bars, there's nothing to stack, so choose a dimension or select two or more measures.
