# Connect Amazon

{% hint style="info" %}
Amazon doesn't require entering a key: it connects when you **sign in with your Amazon Seller Central account and grant permission**. Sales in foreign currencies are converted to Korean won (KRW) with the **Data management** › **Exchange rates** settings, so you can view them alongside your other channels.
{% endhint %}

## Amazon connection guide

1. Click **Data Connect** in the left rail, then type Amazon in **Search connectors** in the navigation panel, or click **Amazon Connect** in the **Connect To Global Shopping Mall** category.

2. Click **Data Connect** on the right side of the **Amazon Connect** screen header to open the **Connect an Amazon account** window.

{% hint style="info" %}
If you haven't connected an account yet, the connector screen shows **What you can analyze once connected**. Click **View sample** to preview, with sample data, the screens available after connecting. Also check **How to connect** and **Before you start** at the bottom of the screen for the connection steps and what to prepare.
{% endhint %}

3. Click **Connect Data** to open the Amazon Seller Central authorization window in a new tab. Sign in with your Seller Central account and grant Laplace access to your data.
4. After you grant permission, you return to Laplace, see **Adding a new Amazon connection.**, and the Amazon account is added to the connection table. Check the selling accounts being collected under **Data source** in the connection table, and add more data sources with **+**.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Before you start**

* A sign-in account with Amazon admin permissions
* Allow pop-ups in your browser so the new window can open
* After you sign in and grant permission, you're automatically returned to this screen
  {% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
**My authorization has expired.**

👉 Click **Renew Authentication** from ⋯ (**More actions**) on the right of the row in the connection table to reopen the Seller Central authorization window. Sign in with the same Seller Central account and grant permission.
{% endhint %}

* Connected accounts appear in the connection table on the connector screen. From ⋯ (**More actions**) on the right of a row, you can **Refresh** and **Renew Authentication**.
* Laplace imports all data since the store was founded, so **it can take an hour or more if there's a lot of data**.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Why does the data connection take so long?**

👉 Laplace doesn't just import your Amazon data: it also cleans the data and builds charts from it. The more data you have, the longer it may take.

💬 Check progress in **Jobs & data status** on the right of the top bar. We'll also email you when the connection is complete. Collection continues even if you close Laplace, so feel free to close it.
{% endhint %}

## Set the product ID basis

Amazon products can be identified by either **ASIN** (the product number assigned by Amazon) or **seller product code** (the product code you assign, SKU). By default, data comes in by **ASIN**.

1. Click **Data management** in the left rail, then click **Product ID basis** in the navigation panel. You can see the current basis (**ASIN** or **Seller product code**).

   ![Product ID basis in Data management](https://616205588-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fqr1veGyUqCNwQBBmk3yt%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-a362997f6fc2586c6a55859829a9c98a93130f59%2Fstartguide__connect__mall__amazon__04.png?alt=media)

{% hint style="warning" %}

* The Laplace operations team changes the product ID basis after moving existing matches to the new basis. If you want to change it, click **Request a change** on the screen.
* Changes take effect from the next data refresh.
  {% endhint %}

👉 See the [Product ID basis](/guide/en/datamanage/product_identity.md) guide for details.
