# Connect base product data

You can add base product data in two ways: **Upload file** (Excel upload) under **Data management** › **Matching · cost** › **Base product**, or a spreadsheet connection in **Data Connect**. This page covers the spreadsheet connection. You can use both methods together; when values overlap for the same base product, the [priority by source](/guide/en/datamanage/matching.md#priority) determines the final value.

## How to connect a spreadsheet

1. Click **Data Connect** on the left rail, then click **Base product data** in the **Connect with Spreadsheet** category of the navigation panel. Click the **Data Connect** button on the right of the **Connect base product data from Google Sheets** screen header.

If you haven't connected a sheet yet, the connector screen shows **What you can analyze once connected**. Click **View sample** to preview, with sample data, the screens you'll see after connecting. Also check **How to connect** and **Before you start** at the bottom of the screen for the connection steps and what to prepare.

2. Click the **Create spreadsheet** button in **Connection Info** in the connection window.

3. Click the **Copy link** or **Shortcuts** button to the right of **Spreadsheet URL**.

   1. **Copy link**: Copies the link to the created spreadsheet.
   2. **Shortcuts**: Opens the created spreadsheet in a new window.
4. In the spreadsheet, go to the "\[Input] Base product cost / selling price" sheet at the bottom.

5. Enter your data in the sheet.

Base product brand: Enter the brand name.

e.g.) If the brand name is "라플라스" on SmartStore and "Laplace" on Cafe24, they won't be merged into one brand. Enter a single, unified brand name.

If the brand name and base product ID are the same but the product name differs, an error may occur. Be careful when entering data.

Apply start date: Enter the date the cost takes effect. If the cost changed on a specific date, create two rows and enter the earlier start date and the date of the change. The base product brand, ID, and product name must be the same.

6. Return to Laplace and click the **Next** button to check the sheets to connect.

7. Select the sheet you entered data in, then click the **Connect** button to connect the data.

* Sheet data can take about 30 minutes to 1 hour to be reflected. You can track progress in **Jobs & data status** on the right of the top bar.
* Connected sheets appear in the table on the **Connect base product data from Google Sheets** screen. Use ⋯ (**More actions**) on the right of a sheet row to **Refresh** and more.
